2010 UJA Walk for Israel
Despite the rain in the morning blue skies prevailed. Once the anthems were sung and the shofar was blown, Aaron Shiffman lead walkers on a 5k walk beginning at Shalom Village, following the Bayfront trail and then returning to Coronation Park for food, games and live music. As the walkers followed the bayfront route, Shalom Village residents, with the assistance of Shalom Village staff, made their way around the arena inside Coronation Park.
The fundraising focus for this years walk was “helping those at home and in our homeland”, with funds being directed to Hamilton Jewish Social Services and – JAFI's Net@project that trains high risk youth for high-tech positions and helps bridge Israel’s digital divide.
Our goal for this year was $20,000 but fell short. If you are able to help us meet this goal please make an online donation here.
