In this presentation, Najmeh Baghihani will explore the often-unclear boundaries between permissible and prohibited art in Iran, shaped by the policies of the Islamic Republic. She will also discuss the rise of protest art in recent decades, examining how artists continue to find ways to display their work despite restrictions, and how their art transforms into a form of resistance and protest.
Najmeh is a writer, visual designer, and painter, who was born in Neyshabur, a city in the northeast of Iran. Najmeh has a background in Chemical Engineering, but her passion for the arts led her to pursue a Master's in Visual Communication at the Iran University of Art.
