Intermediate- Tuesdays at 7PM

Joshua Berkovitz
Self-Driven executive in career transition, pursuing lifelong passion of love for Israel and commitment to Jewish education and values.
Over the years, Berkovitz has gained experience in Jewish education, when he took part in building the Hebrew School at one of the conservative synagogues in the Detroit area (Bnei Moshe), he was a Hebrew School
teacher there for over 10 years. In addition, during the High holidays, Berkovitz has lead, coordinated and
taught the Jewish family services. He was teaching students of 1st grade thru high school. Privately for 6
years, Joshua had been tutoring boys and girls at his home, preparing them for their Bar Mitzvah.
Joshua is very passionate towards Israel and Jewish studies. He is a frequent speaker at the Second Generation Holocaust Survivors
events, and annually, he is invited to lecture about Israel at churches across Michigan.
Joshua enjoys giving back to his community. Presently, he serves as VP and sits on the Board of Directors of Michigan Friends of the IDF
(an American charity). He is a past-president of Michigan Friends of the IDF. Berkovitz had also served on the Board of Directors of
Michigan American TECHNION Society.
Berkovitz was born in Israel. Both his parents were Holocaust survivors. He served in the Israeli Defense Forces.
Joshua Berkovitz holds a B.Sc. Engineering degree from the University of Philadelphia
