As you may know, FamilySearch is the genealogical arm of the LDS. The catalog of the Family History Library includes records for over 110 countries, territories, and possessions which they are digitizing so that we can all access records online. Leonard Swift will guide us through the FamilySearch website which contains a wealth of goodies for us to access from the comfort of our homes.

Leonard Ray Swift was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario in 1955. He married Barbara Jane Brodie in 1980. Leonard and Barbara are the proud parents of three sons and two daughters, and the proud grandparents of seven.

Leonard has been an amateur genealogist for 40 years and has seen great improvements in the use of technology to locate family records. He has spent many hours laboriously searching microfilm records in the special collections section of the University of Western Ontario and has endured northern Ontario black flies to collect family information from cemetery headstones. Today, with online tools such as FamilySearch he has been able to amass over 20,000 names in his family history file.
