JWelcome Home Hamilton is a community initiative dedicated to supporting newcomers settling in Hamilton, Ontario. JWelcome Home Hamilton aims to foster a welcoming environment by connecting newcomers with local resources and opportunities, helping them establish roots and thrive in their new community.

Services & Support from Federation
Our program aims to equip you with all the information you need to make an informed decision to relocate to Hamilton, Ontario. Hamilton Jewish Federation offers support at different to prospective immigrants at various stages of their relocation planning process.
As a first step, we recommend visiting the Government of Canada website to see which immigration program for which you may be eligible to apply.
Arrival in Hamilton
- Airport pickup arrangements.
- Groceries and/or food to get you started.
- Guided tour of your new neighbourhood (we will show you where the nearest grocery stores are, gas stations, etc.).
- Free entry to JCC programs, synagogue week memberships for the first year, one free week of Kadimah JCamp for your children.
- Invitation to annual Welcoming Newcomers party.
Planning Phase
- Assist in establishing connections with professionals in your field.
- Assistance in finding you a place to live: we will refer you to real estate agents, guide you in neighbourhood selection, and tour houses or apartments for you if you wish.
- Referral/introduction to Jewish schools and Jewish organizations.
Exploratory Phase
- Referral to our immigration consultant.
- Introductory calls with other newcomers who have relocated to Hamilton who speak your first language.
- Help in exploratory visit to Hamilton, including meetings related to housing, education, employment and Jewish life.
- Online question and answer sessions on various aspects of relocating to Hamilton and Canada.

I am Jewish, but my spouse is not. Is JWelcome Home open to us?
Absolutely!
Does the Jewish Federation sponsor prospective newcomers for immigration?
No, but we will connect you with experienced immigration lawyers who have long standing relationships in our community.
Will the Jewish Federation pay some of my moving expenses?
